A closer look at AuditIt Equipment Damage Report Builder
A no-account equipment damage worksheet with four evidence categories and print, CSV and JSON output controls.
Keep a scratch apart from its explanation
Suppose a returned machine has a visible scratch, and the driver says it happened while loading. The scratch is an observation. The explanation is a reported account. AuditIt's equipment damage worksheet gives each a separate place, so a later reader can tell what someone saw and what someone told them.
Two further sections hold suspected causes and authorized decisions. A hypothesis stays labeled as a hypothesis, while a decision records the person or role that owns it. That separation is the strongest part of this small tool. A single damage-description box can too easily turn an unconfirmed explanation into a finding.
Give the next reader enough context
The form starts with a record title, asset ID, equipment description, date and location. Its evidence sections add component details, references and timestamps, and visible controls allow more entries in each section. The worksheet uses references to evidence rather than asking for a photo upload.
That makes it a place to organize an equipment record, not an inspection procedure. A reference can point to a separate photo or maintenance record, but the worksheet does not establish that the linked work happened or that an explanation is correct. Safety, repair and return-to-service decisions still belong to the appropriate people and site procedures.
Take the record out of the tab
The standalone worksheet is free and has no account step. It offers printing, a CSV for spreadsheets and JSON that preserves its versioned record structure. The page says these files are created in the current browser tab and that the tool does not send or save worksheet contents. Keep an export if the record needs to last beyond that session.
AuditIt also offers a wider audit-workflow product, with separate accounts and data handling. The worksheet's local-content statement should not be read as a privacy promise for that whole service.
