The rules say new bids open at noon Thursday and close at the end of Sunday in New York time. Confirmed placements remain eligible for seven days, and an earlier listing wins a tie. When checked on Wednesday, the board said new bids were closed and no venue held the leading position.

The calendar window and rolling placement window are different. A venue considering the board should check both before planning a promotion.

The public rules prohibit star ratings and review claims in listings. That is a useful boundary for a board where money determines position.
