A closer look at CountMyDays

CountMyDays tracks days until a future date or days since a past one, from weddings and exams to a sobriety date. Guest mode stores everything in your browser without sign-up, and a free passwordless account syncs milestones across devices. It installs as an offline web app, shows a progress bar when you add a start date and has no ads.

Counting down, or counting up

CountMyDays handles both directions. Give it a wedding, an exam or a trip and it counts down. Give it a date in the past, such as a move or the day someone stopped drinking, and it counts the days since. The site lists sobriety among its own examples.

Each milestone becomes a card with a live counter running to the second. If you add a start date, the card also shows how far along you are, as a bar and a percentage. That turns a long wait, like a year-long training plan, into something you can watch move.

Small tools around the counter

Cards can be pinned so the nearest deadline stays on top, starred, or cloned when you're setting up a run of similar dates. Each one exports to Google Calendar or as an Apple .ics file. A fullscreen presentation mode shows a single counter in oversized type, and the guide suggests it for monitors, stages, live streams and celebration count-ins. The app installs as a progressive web app on iOS, Android or desktop Chrome and Edge, and it keeps working offline.

Where your dates live

By default nothing leaves your browser. The privacy policy says guest-mode milestones, notes and settings sit in local storage and aren't sent to the server. Signing in is optional and uses a passwordless magic link. It stores your email and syncs milestones through Supabase so they appear on your other devices. The policy names the person responsible for the data, sets out how long each type is kept and says an automatic job clears expired data every day.

The app and the sync account are free, there are no ads, and the site has an optional buy-us-a-coffee link.
