A closer look at Free Image Merger

Free Image Merger combines up to 20 images into one, in a row, a stack, a grid or a freestyle collage. Adjust spacing, margins, corner radius and background, then download as PNG, JPG or WebP. Merging runs in the browser with the HTML5 canvas, so photos aren't uploaded, and there's no watermark or signup.

Four layouts, one download

Combining screenshots or product shots into one image is a small job that often ends with opening a heavy editor or uploading files to a site you don't know. Free Image Merger does it in a browser tab. You add images by dragging, browsing or pasting from the clipboard, choose a mode and download the result.

The modes cover the usual cases. Horizontal puts images in a row and matches their heights, which suits before-and-after comparisons or product variants. Vertical stacks them into one tall file for step-by-step instructions or long chat screenshots. Grid sets them into equal cells with a column count you choose, and freestyle gives you a canvas where you drag, resize and layer each image yourself.

Small controls that matter

Spacing, outer margin, corner radius and background are all adjustable with a live preview, and the background can be transparent. Exports come as PNG, JPG or WebP at full resolution, with a quality setting for the compressed formats. You can merge up to 20 images at a time.

The site links several narrower tools for jobs the merger doesn't cover, such as a screenshot stitcher that removes the overlap between scrolling captures, a before-and-after maker with labels, a sprite sheet maker and an Instagram grid cutter.

Nothing uploaded

The privacy page is short because there isn't much to say. It says images are merged locally with the HTML5 canvas and never sent to a server, there's no signup or login, and the only cookies come from Google Analytics, used for aggregate page views, region and browser type. That makes it a sensible pick for screenshots you'd rather not upload anywhere. It's free, with no watermark.
