A closer look at Loop Engineering

Loop Engineering is a free site for planning AI agent workflows. Pick a task such as a CI fix or PR review and a target like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or GitHub Actions, and the goal generator writes a copyable loop with validation, a stop rule, an iteration limit, a fallback and approval gates. It also has templates, a budget calculator and a readiness checker.

Why stop rules matter

Pointing a coding agent at a failing build and telling it to keep going until it's fixed is easy. Getting it to stop sensibly is the hard part. The site's own framing is that a long prompt isn't a dependable workflow, and that the real work is deciding what the agent may read, how results are checked, when a run ends and which decisions stay with a person.

The goal generator turns those decisions into fields. For a CI fix, the defaults read the latest failure and recent commits first, run the exact failing command and then the full required checks, capture before and after output, and hand the diff to a separate reviewer who rejects shortcuts such as deleting tests. The stop rule ends the run when validation passes or after five failed iterations.

What you can copy out

The output is plain text you paste into your agent, formatted as a Claude Code or Codex /goal, a generic prompt, a continuous-claude setup, a RALPH.md file or a GitHub Actions starting point. It includes the boundaries, a budget line, a fallback that summarizes errors and attempted fixes if the agent gets stuck, and a requirement for human approval before merge, deploy, delete, purchase or any outside communication.

Other tools cover nearby questions. A budget calculator estimates cost, templates give ready starting points, and the Readiness Doctor scores whether a task is ready for an agent. It keeps up to five summaries in local storage, without the workflow text itself.

Free and browser-only

There's no account, repository connection or payment. The privacy policy, updated August 10, 2026, says generator inputs are processed in your browser and not collected, and warns against pasting secrets or customer data anyway. The site uses Google Analytics and may show AdSense ads. It's maintained by TianMingAI as an independent project and says it isn't affiliated with Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor or GitHub.

The generators produce starting points, not guarantees. They don't run code or look at your repository, so whether a stop rule or validation command actually fits your project is still yours to confirm.
