A closer look at NosHost
NosHost bundles free checks for site owners and admins. One setup report covers DNS, SSL, redirects, security headers and page tags, and focused tools handle SPF records, certificate checks, WordPress fatal errors and hosting moves.
What it does
NosHost is a toolbox for the moment something on a website breaks or is about to change. Type a hostname into the setup check and it reports on DNS, SSL, redirects, security headers and page tags together. From there, 83 narrower tools cover specific jobs, such as looking up DNS records, checking SPF and other email authentication, reading a site's certificate, following a redirect chain or generating server configuration.
The tools are organized around problems as well as technologies. If DNS changed unexpectedly, there's a reviewer that compares saved DNS inventories to show which records and TTLs moved. If a WordPress site or WooCommerce checkout is failing, you can collect a report or import a sanitized error log and see which components the evidence points to. There are also guides for rehearsing a hosting move, comparing Cloudflare with an origin server and investigating a slow page.
Who it's for
It fits freelancers and small-business site owners who handle their own hosting, plus developers who want a quick second opinion before or after a release. Everything works without an account. Verifying a site you manage unlocks website projects, where you save expected responses and compare private results across manual runs, which is useful as a lightweight release checklist.
Limits and data
Server-side checks have usage limits and may reuse recent results, which the site labels as cached along with when they were measured. The About page explains the split. Tools that need live network requests run on NosHost's server, while generators and the email header analyzer run entirely in your browser, so what you type into them never reaches the site. The privacy page sets out retention for reports, including a shared history capped at 500 finished jobs.
