A closer look at PetMona
PetMona turns a pet photo into a stylized AI portrait. You get up to three free watermarked previews, then pay once: $3.99 for the HD file, $36.99 for a shipped 8x10 print, or $79 for a framed 12x16 print in the US and Canada.
A portrait you see before you buy
PetMona is built around one worry people have with custom pet portraits, which is paying for something that ends up looking like a different animal. You upload a clear photo of your dog or cat, pick a style, and get a watermarked preview in about a minute or so. The FAQ says the paid file is the same image as the preview with the watermark removed, not a fresh generation, so what you approve is what you get.
There's no subscription and no login account. You add an email when you want to save a portrait or check out. Each email and device gets three free previews in total, and that allowance doesn't reset monthly. The privacy policy explains that the site enforces the limit with a device identifier and a hashed browser fingerprint, and says it doesn't use them for advertising.
Files, prints and frames
The cheapest route is the $3.99 HD download, and the pricing page lists a dedication, a gift reveal page, a certificate and card layouts as included extras. A pack of five unlocks costs $12.99. For something physical, an unframed 8x10 print is $36.99 and the ready-to-hang 12x16 frame is $79. Both include the HD file. Prints come from a US print partner, Artelo, and the framed option ships only to the US and Canada. If a portrait misses the likeness, you can email within 48 hours of buying for a free remake.
The pricing page also sets the $79 frame beside two alternatives it checked on other sellers' sites in August 2026, a DIY print with custom framing at $85 to $145 and a hand-painted commission at $89 to $209. That comparison is the site's own, but it's a fair picture of where this sits. You're getting an AI-generated likeness quickly, not an artist's work over several weeks.
What happens to the photo
PetMona sends your upload to an outside image service to make the portrait, and the privacy policy names fal.ai and Agnes AI. It says those services don't receive your email, name or order details, and that PetMona doesn't train models on your photos. Uploads and results sit in Vercel storage. Automatic deletion isn't enabled yet, so you clear originals or results through a signed My portraits link, or by email for print and animated orders. Analytics and the Meta Pixel load only after you accept them, while a Google Ads click identifier is kept by default for visitors in the US and Canada.
