Project overview

The short version

Read the full Project Note

BasisPilot is a free collection of investing calculators. It covers dollar-cost averaging, average cost and break-even price, position sizing, stop-loss levels and ETF overlap. Every result shows the formula and assumptions behind it, and a methodology page lists the formula version, precision and rounding rules. The homepage example sizes a trade from a $10,000 account, a 1% risk limit, a $50 entry and a $47.50 stop, which comes out to 40 shares and a $100 planned maximum loss. Calculations run in your browser, inputs aren't sent to analytics, and there's no account. The site says it offers educational calculations, not personalized investment, tax or trading advice. It is available in English and Chinese.
