Project overview
The short version
CarHistory.cc is an independent UK site for people buying a used car. Enter a registration and it shows the car's MOT history from official DVSA records, with no account, and explains what to look for, such as a mileage drop or the same advisory coming back. It also turns DVSA's anonymised MOT data into pass rates by model and year, rankings, common failures and average mileage, with a methodology page explaining each figure. A comparison of paid history checks from HPI, RAC, AA and Experian covers what MOT records leave out. The site isn't part of DVSA or GOV.UK and says it may later earn commission on history-check links, disclosed next to the link.
