Project overview

The short version

Read the full Project Note

LiveBridge Subtitle Translator is an Android 11+ app from an individual developer in Bucheon, South Korea. It captures the sound of a supported playback app, turns speech into text on the phone, and shows a translated caption in a floating window you can move, lock and restyle. Translation needs an internet connection. With your consent, the recognized text and chosen languages go to the developer's own server, which runs the Hy-MT2 model, and the privacy policy says audio and screen images are not uploaded. After a one-time 24-hour ad-free pass, caption time comes from watching ads, 20 minutes per reward, or from a monthly or yearly subscription. It only works with apps that allow playback capture, and protected content can't be captioned.
