Project overview
The short version
Orkas is a desktop workspace for tasks that cross research, writing, documents and code. A Commander plans the work and assigns parts to specialist agents, keeping the conversation and resulting files together. The public repository is MIT-licensed, with packaged downloads for Mac and Windows and a Linux source option. Model access is separate from the free app: users can configure a provider or use Orkas-managed credits. Local-first storage does not mean every request stays on the device; managed models, connected tools and optional sync have their own data paths.
