Project overview
The short version
Transcript Dock gives developers one endpoint for getting text out of video. You send a link or a file to POST /v1/jobs and get back a transcript in the same shape whatever the source, with timed segments and exports as JSON, SRT, VTT or TXT. For YouTube and TikTok it returns the creator's own captions for one credit, and a video without captions fails with a NO_CAPTIONS error rather than an empty result. Paid plans add AI transcription at two credits per started minute, with word timing and language detection, for uploads, direct media links and Instagram Reels in beta. Signed webhooks, batches and an MCP server for Claude, Cursor and VS Code are included. The free plan gives 50 caption credits every 30 days, and paid plans run from $19 to $149 a month. It is run by VOLODS LTD in England, and fetching from these platforms can conflict with their own terms.
