Project overview
The short version
Vocab First turns the moment you reach for a distracting app into a vocabulary lesson. You pick the apps through Apple Screen Time and set how long an unlock lasts. When you open one, the app shows a word with its meaning, pronunciation and example sentences. On the next visit it asks a recall question about the previous word before teaching a new one, and finishing the step unlocks all your selected apps until the timer runs out. The words are advanced English, aimed at people who already speak the language and want more precise expression, and the site says plainly it isn't a beginner course. A word library tracks progress, streaks and recall accuracy. The privacy policy says protected-app choices and learning history stay on the device and there's no account system, while Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and RevenueCat handle aggregate usage, crash reports and subscriptions. A subscription is required after any introductory trial. The App Store lists $4.99 a month or $19.99 a year, and the app needs iOS 18.2 or later.
