A closer look at allblu

A web interface for native cross-chain cryptocurrency swaps, with public route quotes and a deposit-address workflow.

A quote before the deposit

allblu lets a visitor look up a cross-chain route, such as Bitcoin to Ethereum, before entering wallet details. The public BTC-to-ETH page displayed a receive estimate, an approximate completion time and the destination network. That makes the page useful for understanding which asset the route is intended to deliver.

A displayed estimate isn't a promised result. The service's terms say quotes can expire, network conditions can change and completion times aren't guaranteed. The network-fee field didn't show a value on the inspected public quote, so the full transaction cost wasn't established here.

The refund address is part of the setup

The documented flow asks for both a receiving address and a refund address, then provides a deposit address for that swap. allblu says it relies on Chainflip infrastructure for quoting, settlement and eligible refunds. Public quotes and instructions were inspected, while execution and refunds remain untested.

The receiving asset and network need to match the destination wallet. The terms warn that wrong-network or late deposits can lead to permanent loss, and that an unsuccessful swap may produce an eligible or partial refund rather than the original expected amount. The terms also warn that deposits to expired addresses can cause loss or delayed recovery.

Wallet addresses and local history

The current service advertises swaps without an account or identity verification, subject to legal and provider requirements in its terms. Its July 23 privacy policy still describes processing destination and refund addresses, swap parameters, transaction identifiers, IP addresses and technical usage information. It also describes browser-stored swap history and optional analytics.

Blockchain transaction records are public, and third-party infrastructure has its own terms. The service's terms limit use to adults who are legally permitted to use it.
