A closer look at Bid Control

Find public-sector work by trade and area, follow bid requirements and prepare forms using saved company details.

A bid packet is more than a job listing

A contractor looking at a city job needs to know what to build, when the bid is due and which forms must go with it. Bid Control puts those questions together. PorchRocket's public Texas directory has separate lists for open bids, work discussed before a bid posts and recently awarded contracts. Trade pages help narrow the list before a crew spends time reading a packet.

The landing page illustrates the next step with a waterline project. Its example breaks out the work, location, budget and required paperwork, then shows forms waiting for prices, signatures or a notary. Showing the unsigned forms makes the remaining work visible before a contractor decides to bid.

Reuse the company details, keep the decisions

PorchRocket calls its saved company record a Bid Passport. It describes reusing items such as a W-9, insurance and license details to fill later forms. Deadline and addendum monitoring aim to keep changed requirements with the job.

Its terms make the division of work clear. Automation, including AI, helps read documents and prepare forms, and the Bid Team tier adds support where a person is needed. The contractor chooses the price, reviews every document and remains responsible for certifications, licenses, insurance, bonds and deadlines. Confirm the final requirements in the public buyer's own documents. A prepared packet is not proof that a bid qualifies or will win.

Choose how much help to buy

The site offers three jobs free without a card. Posted monthly plans are $49 for Bid Board, $149 for Bid Builder and $799 for Bid Team. It also advertises one supported bid a month for $299. The terms say subscriptions renew until canceled, so a sample view and an ongoing plan are different commitments.

Before uploading company paperwork, check the applicable product and data terms. The public privacy policy mainly describes the marketing site, forms and customer microsites, and the general terms say separate privacy arrangements may apply to paid products. That matters more for a saved bid file than it does for browsing the public directory.
