A closer look at Ground Control

Order property lists by area and estimated features, or add property details to an existing address list.

Start with the property feature

A pool-service business might want a list of homes with visible pools. A roofer might start with an estimated roof-age band and shingle material. Ground Control turns those kinds of criteria into a property-data order. Customers choose their work, required features and area, then see a price before paying.

PorchRocket says it uses aerial imagery and property records. The product supports residential and commercial searches, plus enrichment of an existing address list. Results can come as CSV or Excel, with layouts for tools such as SalesRabbit and SPOTIO. Those layouts are file formats, not a promise of automatic CRM synchronization.

Read the estimate for what it is

The roof-age bands are estimates. Ground Control's data standards describe a confidence threshold for age-qualified roofs, and explicitly call it an operating threshold rather than an independent audit. Imagery may be up to two years old when an order is processed. The exported processed date records when the order finished, not when a roof was inspected.

An estimated roof age does not establish damage, replacement intent or insurance coverage. The terms describe the records as nonexclusive and say they do not promise inbound leads. An age band can narrow the addresses a roofer researches. The resulting records cannot tell a crew which homeowners want a visit.

Pay for records, consider the data

Orders use prepaid credits, with rates affected by property type, criteria and add-ons. An account is free to create; property orders are paid. Optional owner-contact research, roof reports and storm history add to the scope. Check the accepted price and order terms before funding a search, especially if the area may yield fewer matches than requested.

Owner contact is personal data, not an invitation from the owner. PorchRocket's product privacy notice says it collects and sells personal data as a data broker and offers privacy-choice and regional rights information. Its terms put responsibility for outreach permission on the customer. A buyer considering contact research should read those limits alongside the property filters.
