A closer look at Dugout

Dugout combines team chat, voice and video huddles, docs, sheets, slides, kanban boards and file storage in one workspace, then adds AI agents that work in the same channels, boards and files as the team. Boards can run coding agents unattended and notify you when they need input. The free plan covers the team essentials, and agents start with the $4-per-member Standard plan.

Agents in the same rooms as the team

Dugout's idea is to put AI agents where a team already works, in channels, on boards, in shared docs and in live sessions. The homepage walks through one flow. Someone asks a context-aware agent for a spec and mockups, the agent and the team edit the same native doc, a card lands on the development board, and the board hands the work to coding agents running unattended on machines. You get a notification when an agent needs input, and another when it's done, with a screenshot as proof.

That last part is the practical detail. An agent that reports back in the channel where the task started, with a screenshot attached, is easier to check than one whose output turns up somewhere else.

The workspace without agents

The free plan works as a team tool on its own. It includes channels and messaging, docs, sheets and slides, kanban boards, voice and video huddles, file storage and two-way GitHub sync. A team can move its day-to-day work over first and decide about agents later.

Plans, AI access and data

Agents start on the Standard plan at $4 per member a month, which adds AI agents and workflows, live coding and browser sessions, group huddles with transcripts, scheduled tasks and full message and file history. You bring your own AI subscription or API key. Pro costs $10 per member a month and adds automated agent and browser tests and more agents per member. Agents never take a paid seat.

The privacy policy, from Thirsty Beast LLC, says data goes to AI providers when you use agents, transcription or voice features, along with other service providers that run the product. It also says Dugout doesn't sell personal information or use workspace content to train its own AI models.
