A closer look at Edny

An invitation-only parent preview of an AI homework tutor with spoken conversation, a shared whiteboard and parent-managed learner access.

Try the parent preview first

Edny currently offers an invitation-only preview. Parents try it first; requesting access doesn’t guarantee an invitation.

The site shows an illustrated water-cycle explanation and presents short lesson demos on clouds, slope and Earth's orbit. Those examples introduce the lesson format; they do not establish a learning result for a particular child.

Talk and draw through the question

The advertised lesson starts with a question, homework photo or document. The AI talks through it and uses a shared whiteboard. A learner can ask for another explanation, draw along and try a practice step with hints. Voice and video modes use the same board.

Parent controls offer hints first, examples followed by practice or open exploration. The family account also creates separate learner sign-ins and can pause their access. These are public descriptions of the controls, without a hands-on lesson or parent-account test here.

Review what a lesson shares

The preview policy says microphone audio and selected homework or board content are processed by OpenAI in Voice mode or Tavus in Video mode. Switching modes can send selected material to the other provider. Turning lesson recording off does not mean provider logs or transcripts are absent.

Edny says learner accounts keep short lesson recaps for the family, with automatic deletion after 90 days, and warns that AI explanations can be mistaken. A parent should review both the processing terms and the explanation itself before relying on the preview for a child.
