Long-form Project Note
A closer look at Maintenance: Home Reminders
Maintenance is an Android app for recurring household jobs. A user creates an activity, chooses an interval, and sees on-track, due-soon, or overdue work on one board. Marking an item maintained records the completion and starts the next interval from that date. The public page also describes completion history and an optional shared Home. It says the app is currently free, has no ads, and does not require an account to begin.
This note reflects a first-time user perspective.
What caught my eye
The completion-based schedule fixes a small but irritating problem with fixed calendar reminders. If a filter change happens two weeks late, the next interval starts from the day the work was actually done. That is easy to understand and useful for maintenance that repeats after use or completion. ProjectRadar reviewed the public site and linked Google Play availability but did not install the app.
How Maintenance: Home Reminders works
Users create a recurring maintenance activity, set its interval, and see whether it is on track, due soon, or overdue.
Marking the work complete records it in the history and starts the next interval from that completion date. The public page also describes an optional shared Home.
Who might find it useful
Maintenance fits Android users who track jobs that repeat after they are actually completed.
It is especially relevant when fixed calendar reminders become inaccurate after late work.
Closing context
Maintenance bases the next reminder on reality, not an old calendar date.
That small scheduling choice makes sense for household jobs that slip, though the Android app was not tested here.
