A closer look at Kept: Keep Your Promises
An Android promise tracker with recurring schedules, local notifications, completed or missed responses and optional proof notes.
A reminder with an answer
Kept's useful detail comes after the notification. You can answer 'I did it' or 'Not today', then look back at completed and missed promises. Adding a short proof note gives a completed entry more context than a tick alone. For a reading promise, for example, that could be the chapter you finished.
Promises can repeat daily or on selected days. The Google Play listing describes local notifications, no account, no ads and no social feed. That makes the idea a good fit for someone who wants a private record of a modest commitment, without turning it into a public challenge. Project Radar checked the Android listing and official support pages on October 13, 2026; the app was not installed or tested.
What stays, and what stops
The privacy policy says promise text, reminder schedules, results and proof notes are stored in the app's private on-device database, without a copy sent to the developer or a Kept server. It also says the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Those are the developer's disclosures, not an independent check of the app's data flows. Store and device services may process information separately under their own policies.
Archiving a promise stops its future reminders but keeps its history. Clearing the app's data in Android settings or uninstalling it removes the local record, according to the support page. That distinction matters if you're retiring a routine but still want to look back at it.
Allow for delayed reminders
Reminders depend on the phone. Kept's support page warns that battery-saving modes and manufacturer policies can delay them. Use the history for reflection, but choose a different mechanism for anything that must alert you at an exact time.
