A closer look at Riffwise
Riffwise adds Write a reply and Create quote text to the right-click menu in supported reply boxes. It reads the post or email you're answering, drafts in your saved tone and length, and leaves posting to you.
What it does
Riffwise lives in the right-click menu of the reply box. In a supported composer on X, Threads, Bluesky or Gmail, the menu shows Write a reply and Create quote text. Riffwise reads the post or email you're answering, along with relevant attached media and optional nearby context, so you don't have to paste anything or explain the situation. The draft opens for editing, and you finish with Insert reply, Insert quote or Copy.
Quote mode writes the short take you'd put above someone else's post. You edit it the same way, and posting is still your decision.
Who it's for
It suits people who reply often and want a starting point rather than a ghostwriter, such as someone working through a Gmail inbox or a founder answering threads on X. Voice settings carry over between drafts, so you set tone, length, emoji use and any standing instructions once. It runs only on desktop Chrome for Mac, Windows and Chromebook, because mobile Chrome doesn't support extensions.
Limits worth knowing
Riffwise is in beta and needs an account. The free plan gives 40 successful generations each calendar month with no card, and Pro raises that to 500 for €5.99 a month or €49 a year, billed through Paddle. One generation is one reply, quote or rewrite draft.
The help center is upfront about where it struggles. Video and media-heavy posts can hide the source text from the extension, and Google Docs or heavily customized editors may need Copy instead of direct insertion.
On data, the privacy policy says writing-request content and attached post media go to OpenAI to generate the draft, Supabase handles accounts, and Riffwise doesn't intentionally store ordinary prompts or generated replies in its application database. It doesn't ask for your social media passwords.
