A closer look at Save Gmail Emails as PDF in Bulk
Save Gmail Emails as PDF in Bulk is a Chrome and Edge extension that exports selected emails, a label, a sender or a search result to PDF from Gmail's own toolbar. Each conversation can become its own PDF with attachments zipped beside it, or up to 50 can merge into one file to save or print. PDFs are generated in the browser. The first 20 conversions are free, then $4.99 a month or $49.90 a year.
A paper trail out of Gmail
The site's lead example is a law office. A paralegal selects a client's label in Gmail, clicks PDF and gets every thread as a separate file, with headers, timestamps and inline images intact, ready for a case file. That's the whole job of this extension, and it does it from Gmail's own toolbar rather than a separate app.
After installation, PDF and Print buttons appear in the toolbar and switch on once you tick a message. You can pick emails one by one, or select a label, a sender or any search result. Filenames follow a template, and the site's examples combine the date, sender and subject, so a batch sorts by date when it lands in a folder.
One file per thread, or one file for all
There are two output modes. The first saves each conversation as its own PDF and puts its attachments in a zip next to it, which suits an archive where each thread has to stand alone. The second merges up to 50 conversations into one PDF that you can save or send straight to the printer. That's the quicker route for a month of receipts or one project's correspondence.
Saving a whole thread keeps the original message and every reply in order. The site recommends that for approvals and client decisions, where the meaning depends on the back-and-forth.
Local processing, and who runs it
The extension can read whatever email is open in Gmail, so its privacy policy matters more than usual. The policy says PDFs are rendered inside your browser from the email already displayed, and that email content and attachments are never uploaded. It asks for access to the webmail pages you use, for downloads, and for local storage to keep your preferences. Optional anonymous analytics record which features get used and never include email content, according to the same page.
The site doesn't name the person or company that makes the extension. Support goes through a contact form and an email address, and payments run through Stripe. The free tier includes 20 conversions. Unlimited use is $4.99 a month or $49.90 a year, with a 7-day money-back guarantee.
