THE HILL

THE HILL is a browser experiment where a $1 takeover puts a name and flag on a shared hill until another player replaces them.

A closer look at THE HILL

A browser-based king-of-the-hill experiment with a public flag, a running timer and a $1 paid takeover.

One flag at a time

A name, a flag and a clock are almost the whole game. THE HILL shows who currently holds a cartoon hill and how long that turn has lasted. Its advertised rule is simple: pay $1 to put your flag there until somebody takes over. The appeal is the temporary public claim itself, for people who enjoy small, deliberately absurd web experiments.

A history with the staging made visible

The history panel lists recent takeovers and marks pre-launch test entries. A separate warm-up gallery contains 23 starter flags, identified as staged characters with no purchases. That disclosure matters. The jokes in the gallery give the page its tone, but they are not evidence of customer activity.

The current hill and history were accessible without an account or payment when checked on October 6, 2026. ProjectRadar did not buy a turn or verify payment fulfillment.

A dollar buys a turn of uncertain length

The public offer ties holding time to the next takeover. There is no fixed duration in that promise, so a long-running timer on the current flag does not tell a new player how long their own turn would last. Viewing the hill is enough to understand the idea; anyone considering a paid turn should check the checkout terms before paying.
