A closer look at TwinPhone
TwinPhone is a pay-as-you-go internet calling service in the browser and on iOS. Calls to the US and Canada cost $0.02 a minute, other rates show before you dial, and virtual US or Canadian numbers start at $3.19 a month for receiving calls and SMS.
What it does
TwinPhone is internet calling with an ordinary phone at the other end. You sign in with email or Google, add credit, and dial from a keypad in the browser. The person you call picks up on their normal mobile or landline. It covers more than 145 countries, and the per-minute rate shows on screen before you place the call, starting at $0.02 a minute to the US and Canada. There are no subscriptions or monthly fees for calling, and top-ups start at $10.
The second piece is virtual numbers. For $3.19 a month and up you can rent a US or Canadian number and receive calls and text messages on it in the same browser dashboard. The numbers are receive-only for SMS, so you can't send texts from them. The site suggests them as a second line for business, travel, accounts or support.
Who it's for
It suits people who regularly call relatives or businesses in another country and don't want an international plan, and travelers who need to reach a local number from a laptop. The rented numbers help anyone who wants a separate contact number without carrying a second SIM. Besides the web app there's an iOS app, and a business option for teams.
Limits and privacy
TwinPhone can't connect to emergency services such as 911, 112 or 999, and the site says so in its FAQ and privacy policy. Keep a regular phone line for that. The privacy policy, updated October 17, 2026, names hrhelperg s.r.o. in Prague as the operator and data controller. It lists Telnyx and Twilio as the telephony providers that handle calls, numbers and SMS, and says personal calls aren't recorded. Business plans can turn on call recording for their own team, and it's off by default.
