Project overview
The short version
Assay is a lead research tool for outbound agencies and B2B sales teams. You give it company websites, or a plain description it uses to find them, and say what kind of customer you want. It reads up to three public pages per company, scores the fit and fills in what they sell, who they sell to, size, hiring and pricing. Every field has to come with a sentence copied from those pages. Assay then checks that the sentence is really on the page, and a second model checks that it supports the field. Anything that fails stays visible with a mark, so a rep can see which claims are unproven. Results export to CSV, HubSpot or Smartlead, or go out by webhook. Plans run from $149 a month for 400 companies, with a free check of up to 10 companies a day. It is run by Machines + Words (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town, and says it stores no personal contact data.
