Project overview

The short version

Read the full Project Note

IsThisRealAI is an image checker for a question that keeps coming up online: is this photo real? You upload a JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 8MB, and a detection model reads the pixels for the traces image generators leave in texture, noise, edges and lighting, and separately looks at faces for signs of swapping. The result is an AI probability, a deepfake probability and one of four verdicts: likely AI-generated, likely deepfake, not likely AI, or uncertain. When one generator stands out, it names the closest match from 100 it recognizes. The site is careful about limits. It says screenshots and re-saved copies lower accuracy, that a not-likely result isn't proof an image is unedited, and that uncertain is an honest answer rather than a failure. It doesn't rely on metadata or watermarks. Each check uses one credit, from $2.99 for 20 to $24.99 for 300, with no subscription. The privacy policy says its own server doesn't keep images, but the US analysis provider may keep them for up to 14 days, have people review them and use them to improve its service.
