Project overview

The short version

Read the full Project Note

RegexToolbox is a free web tool for people who need a regular expression but don't want to write one from memory. You describe the match in up to 200 characters, the AI returns a pattern, and you can test it against sample text immediately. Clickable starter prompts cover phone numbers, email validation, URL extraction and date formats. Below the generator is a table of common patterns for URLs, IPv4 addresses, emails, HTML tags, strong passwords, dates, times, hex colors and usernames, several aimed at Chinese text and phone formats, each copyable or importable into the AI editor. A learning section has a beginner guide, a syntax cheat sheet, practical techniques and interview questions. The site notes that generated regexes are publicly visible as shared examples, so avoid putting private data in prompts, and its privacy policy says inputs and outputs are processed to provide the service.
