Project overview
The short version
RoamDial is a radio player built for stumbling onto somewhere new. Press Start listening and it tunes to a live station, or drag the sky of dots and hold the reticle on one to hear it. Stations are grouped by genre rather than only pinned to a map, and zooming in opens cities into spirals. You can also browse by country, search, save stations and songs, and step through stations with the keyboard. The station list comes from Radio Browser, a community-run database, with places from GeoNames, and audio streams straight from each station's own server. There are no accounts and no ads on the site, and saved items stay in your browser. The privacy page describes anonymous usage reports kept for 90 days and Google Analytics, which in the EU, UK and Switzerland loads only with consent. iPhone and Android apps are also listed.
