The short version

Read the full Project Note

SKPDowngrade solves a narrow but common SketchUp headache: someone sends a model saved in a newer version, and the copy of SketchUp you or your client has can't open it. You drop a .skp file on the page, choose a target from SketchUp 2017, the most compatible, through 2025, and download the converted file. Geometry and layers carry over, and materials do when the older version can store them. A version checker reads the file header in your browser to tell you which year saved it without uploading anything. The first file up to 100 MB is free without an account, signing in adds one more, and further conversions are paid. The privacy policy says converted files are deleted within 15 minutes and never published or used for training, and the site states it isn't affiliated with Trimble, which owns SketchUp.
