Project overview
The short version
Web Harmonium is an online Indian harmonium built on the Web Audio API. You unlock sound with a tap and play by clicking or tapping the keys, using mapped QWERTY keys on a laptop or connecting a MIDI controller. Every key shows both the Western pitch and the Sargam syllable, and transpose and octave settings move Sa to suit your voice. Around the keyboard sit raga guides for Yaman, Bhairav, Kafi and Malkauns, note pages for bhajan, Bollywood and ghazal melodies, a web tanpura for a drone and a tuner that listens through your microphone. You can record what you play. The privacy policy says recordings, presets, practice streaks and settings stay in your browser, and that microphone and MIDI input aren't uploaded. The tools share a 10-minute trial without an account, and lifetime access costs $4.99 once.
