The generator is the center of ClanCatLab. Pick a life stage and a theme, press the button, and you get five names. The life stage controls the ending, so a kit gets -kit, an apprentice gets -paw, a warrior gets an individual suffix and a leader gets -star. Themes steer the prefix toward plants, weather, water or animals. You copy the one you like, and the set survives a page refresh because it's saved in your browser.

The site also explains the rules behind the names. A short section shows how one prefix carries through a cat's life, from Rusty to Firepaw, Fireheart and Firestar, and notes that not every cat in the books follows the pattern.

The site is aimed at readers creating an original character, or OC, for fan fiction, art or roleplay. The 200-name list adds meanings and suggested traits, grouped by Clan, which helps when a generator result is close but not quite right. Newer readers get the 52 released main-series books in reading order.

The site also covers Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest, the official adventure RPG from Bamtang Games and Trailmark Games released on October 23, 2026. The guide, marked as checked on October 29, lists platforms and editions, game modes, combat basics and a Steam PC controls update.

ClanCatLab is an unofficial fan site and says so in its footer. Its privacy page says there are no accounts and no site analytics service, and the generator works without any personal information.
