A closer look at Dear Place
A location-based app for public notes and replies. Nearby visitors read the notes; signed-in authors can revisit their own from anywhere.
Let the place carry the note
A park bench, an old street or a summit can give a short message its context. Dear Place lets a visitor leave words at that spot for someone who later comes nearby. Its public walkthrough connects finding a spot on the map with reading and replying to a note.
The location is part of the reading experience. Other people's notes open when a reader is near them. The exact readable distance is shown in the app.
Revisit your own words
After signing in, authors can find their notes on a map or in a list and read them from anywhere. That makes the same app a record of places visited as well as a way to discover nearby messages.
The site says its screenshots show the real Korean app, with illustrative notes and locations. Its neighborhood photographs are AI-generated. No account was created or note posted for this first look.
Write for a public audience
Notes and replies are public to people visiting their spots. An optional signature is public too. Although other readers do not see account details, the terms say the operator identifies authors for moderation and report handling.
Dear Place is for users aged 18 and over. Its rules prohibit harassment and exposing another person's private information. The privacy policy describes sending post text to outside AI providers for pre-publication review. Choose a memory you are comfortable sharing with that audience, and leave personal contact details out.
