KarmaDisk

KarmaDisk does the usual disk-cleaner jobs, but its more unusual one is making photos smaller without losing image data. It compresses supported JPEG, PNG and TIFF files losslessly, which changes how the image is stored rather than what it shows. Each result is checked and kept only if it passes verification and is actually smaller, and the site says leaving an already compact file unchanged is a valid outcome.

A separate JPEG XL workflow converts JPEGs and checks that the original can be rebuilt exactly. The site's measured example, a licensed stock photo, came out 24% smaller, and it says plainly that there's no universal saving.

Originals stay until you approve removing them. A walkthrough page covers which copy to keep and when deleting an original actually frees space, and a checker lets you pick a photo type, such as HEIC, RAW or a Live Photo, to see whether the workflow supports it before you start.

Storage maps, duplicate finding and step-by-step cleanup tasks cost nothing. The app can also find photos tucked away in folders and gather them into Apple Photos albums. Photo processing includes a 50-photo lifetime sample with no time limit, and a one-time Full Version purchase unlocks unlimited processing and automatic file organization. There's no subscription, and it needs macOS 15 or later.

The app's privacy policy, effective September 25, 2026, says it's sandboxed, needs no account, and doesn't send files, photos, scan results, identifiers or usage data to the developer. It has no advertising, analytics SDKs or tracking. The website, hosted on Cloudflare, uses no analytics or cookies.
