Project Note

A closer look at Legal HQ

Legal HQ's Starter Kit gives business owners in a dispute a walkthrough, a spreadsheet workbook and AI prompts for building a chronology, evidence log, deadlines and legal spend tracker. It isn't a law firm and doesn't give legal advice.

What it does

The Starter Kit is about preparation rather than legal strategy. Its ten-step walkthrough has you build a case folder, a one-page matter summary, a chronology, an evidence log, a deadlines list, a decision log, a legal spend log and a weekly routine to keep them current. A spreadsheet workbook supplies each of those as a ready tab with examples and dropdowns, and the spend tracker adds itself up.

The AI part is optional. The AI Case Folder gives instructions and templates for using Claude or ChatGPT as a case clerk. Connected to your email and files, the assistant finds relevant messages, builds the chronology and logs evidence, with every fact tied to its source. A prompt pack turns routine jobs like the first email sweep, the weekly update and a gap check into one-line requests. You review the output, and your lawyer makes the decisions.

The kit also covers the handoff, meaning what to give your lawyer and how to pitch your case to firms you haven't hired yet, with an explanation of contingency, hybrid, flat and capped fees.

Who it's for

It's aimed at founders, owners and executives in a commercial dispute who are paying, or about to pay, for a lawyer's time. The kit is $99 as a one-time download, and a one-hour setup session costs $300 more. Legal HQ is also running a pilot with a live California matter and looking for founding counsel, so the wider service is still forming.

Limits

Legal HQ states that it's a venture in formation, not a law firm, and that it doesn't provide legal advice or representation. Its website privacy notice, updated September 22, 2026, covers only the site's contact and application forms and says there are no accounts or uploads. If you use the AI workflow, your email and documents are handled by the AI assistant you connect under your own account, so its data terms apply.
