A closer look at Scopefolio
Scopefolio organizes scope agreements, change requests, client approvals, deliveries and payment records for freelance client projects across independent services.
When a small request changes the agreement
A client asks for another screen halfway through a fixed-price software project. Before anyone builds it, the freelancer needs to decide whether it is included, a correction or new paid work. Scopefolio's help guide makes that decision an explicit part of the workflow, then connects an approved change to the revised project price and schedule.
The workspace begins with deliverables, acceptance checks, exclusions and responsibilities. Publishing a proposal freezes that version; later edits require a new revision. This gives the client a specific agreement to review instead of a document that can quietly change beneath an earlier approval.
Reading is different from approving
Clients use emailed sign-in links and can review the projects assigned to them. The designated approver must explicitly submit approval; simply opening an email or page does not count. Reviewers can leave feedback without having approval authority. The guide also distinguishes an agreement recorded by the freelancer from approval verified by the client.
Delivery follows the same emphasis on a particular version. The freelancer submits a labeled delivery with a staging link and supporting evidence, then requests acceptance. These are documented behaviors, not a client project run for this note. Whether they fit an existing contract or working arrangement needs separate consideration.
Keep the money and records straight
Scopefolio records invoices and receipts but does not automatically collect client payments. Clients pay using the freelancer's instructions or an external payment link, and the freelancer records full or partial receipts. That distinction prevents an approved proposal from being mistaken for money received.
Early access currently includes no active-project limit and 5 GB of attachments, with files up to 50 MB each. The pricing page promises at least 30 days' notice before introducing charges and no automatic conversion to a paid subscription. Future prices and a start date have not been announced.
Project exports include the records and files each participant is allowed to access, with download links that expire after seven days. The privacy page says production project files are stored with AWS in Singapore. Export completeness and client access controls were not tested here, so a freelancer should check both before moving confidential project records into the service.
