- Why it stood out
- Type charts are easy to look up and surprisingly easy to misread once dual types start multiplying each other. TypeMatchup makes the important result visible first, then offers deeper pages for individual types and Pokémon. The useful detail is that it keeps the boundary clear: this is a type-effectiveness reference, not a full battle prediction, and stats, moves, abilities, items, and format rules can still change the outcome.

About TypeMatchup
Product description
What the project says it is
TypeMatchup is an interactive fan-made reference for Pokémon type effectiveness. Visitors can choose a single or dual defensive typing and immediately see 4× weaknesses, standard weaknesses, resistances, quarter-damage matchups, immunities, and neutral types.

Why it caught our eye
Type charts are easy to look up and surprisingly easy to misread once dual types start multiplying each other.
This is a light context note, not a grade, hands-on evaluation, certification, or promise of traction.
What it does
The site includes the core type calculator, shortcuts for popular combinations, guides for all 153 dual-type pairings, Pokémon-specific weakness pages, a full 18×18 chart, a Gen 9 calculator, ability-adjusted charts, a quiz, and a battle simulator with STAB calculations. Results explain how 2×, 4×, 0.5×, 0.25×, and immunity interactions are produced.
Who it is for
TypeMatchup is useful for players building teams, preparing for raids, planning Nuzlocke runs, learning counters, or checking a defensive matchup without memorizing the whole chart. It is an unofficial educational fan tool rather than an official Pokémon product, and its calculator should be treated as one input alongside the rest of a battle's mechanics.
