A closer look at Valheim Seed
Valheim Seed is a free browser map viewer for Valheim worlds. Type a seed and it draws the biomes, including the 1.0 Deep North, and lists approximate coordinates for boss altars, Haldor and dungeons. There's no account, and the site says to verify critical locations in game.
What it does
Every Valheim world grows from a seed, a short case-sensitive string, and the layout decides how your first hours go. Valheim Seed lets you look before you commit. Type a seed and press Generate Map, and the site draws the whole world in your browser, colour-coded by biome, with markers for boss altars, the trader Haldor and dungeons such as burial chambers. Under the map you get a list of key locations with in-game X and Z coordinates. The example seed on the homepage lists 60 of them. There are also percentages showing how much of the world each biome covers.
That helps with the questions a group actually argues about: is there building room in the starting Meadows, how far is Eikthyr's altar, where is the nearest swamp for iron, and can you find Haldor without sailing for an evening. A share link sends the same map to friends.
Seeds and the 1.0 update
The site was built around Valheim 1.0, which reshaped the far north into the Deep North and changed how new worlds generate. The about page says older seed tools had not kept up with that. A seeds page collects 71 community-documented worlds sorted by playstyle, including a classic boss-rush seed with altars and traders near spawn and one with up to 27 sunken crypts beside a swamp. Guides explain how to find your current world's seed, plus topics like trader locations and raids.
How far to trust the map
The about page is clear that coordinates come from the site's own approximation engine, not a save-file parser, and that it is still being tuned toward exact placement. The map itself repeats the warning to verify critical locations in game, and older community guides recorded on earlier patches may disagree. Treat it as a planning aid.
It is free with no login and works on phones. Seeds are processed in the browser and are not stored unless you share a link. The site uses Google Analytics and Plausible and may show Google AdSense ads.
