Project overview
The short version
Mic Test, at mictest.vip, is a free page for answering the question every video call starts with: can they hear me? Start the test, allow microphone access, and it shows a live input meter with peak level and a waveform. You can pick the input device, toggle noise suppression, adjust gain, record a clip to play back or download as MP3 or WAV, and turn on loopback to hear yourself through headphones. A diagnostics panel lists what the browser actually opened, such as sample rate, channels, latency and whether echo cancellation and auto gain are on. It works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and the privacy policy says audio is processed in the browser and never uploaded, with only aggregated page-view metrics collected.
