Project overview
The short version
My Auto Racer is a free drag race simulator in the browser. You choose two cars from roughly 15,000 real models, set the event, from 60 feet to a mile, a run to a target speed, a rolling start or a fixed time, and watch them launch off a Christmas tree in 2D or 3D with chase, in-car and helicopter cameras. Afterwards you get time slips and speed traces against time and distance, and you can rank the whole field over the same event. Each car is modeled from its published curb weight, power, drivetrain and gearing, then tuned until it reproduces its own published acceleration figures, with data from accelerationtimes.com and cardata.wiki under CC BY 4.0. Advanced settings change grip, temperature, altitude, wind, gradient and passenger load. The site says plainly that times are simulated, not measured, and it has no accounts or ads.
