Project overview

The short version

Read the full Project Note

WorkMonitor is employee monitoring and time-tracking software from Digital Socket LLC in Delaware. A desktop agent for Windows, macOS and Linux, plus browser extensions, records hours, apps, idle gaps and, if the employer turns them on, periodic screenshots. That activity fills timesheets against projects, produces productivity scores that open into the activity behind them, and feeds payroll exports and client invoices on the higher plans. It counts key presses as an activity level but says it never records what is typed, and blurring and per-app exclusions apply on the device before an image is sent. The free plan covers two users with 15-minute screenshots kept 30 days. Pro is $8 per user a month ($6.67 billed yearly) with 180-day retention, and Business is $14 ($11.67 yearly) with 365 days. The company says it holds no security certifications yet.
