Project Note

A closer look at AI Music Mastering

AI Music Mastering masters a finished mix in the browser. You upload a track, pick one of eight sound profiles, adjust intensity and EQ, and compare the original with the master for free. Downloading WAV or MP3 needs a $9.90 monthly membership.

What it does to a finished mix

AI Music Mastering is for the last step after a song is already done. You drop in a finished mix, pick one of eight sound profiles and listen to the original and the master side by side. The profiles each describe a direction: Universal is balanced with gentle compression, Fire adds weight, brighter highs and stronger compression, Clarity trims low-mid weight, Tape adds warm saturation, Natural keeps a light touch, Spatial widens the stereo with some reverb, Cinematic fills out the lows and Punch adds low-end weight. Intensity and EQ controls let you push or pull back from there.

The about page is unusually direct about what this is. The engine is preset-based digital signal processing, and the AI in the name refers to the songs it's built for, not to a trained model making mastering decisions. It also lists what mastering won't do: it doesn't rewrite lyrics, replace vocals, rearrange instruments or reliably fix severe generation artifacts, and extra processing can make harshness more obvious. If a mix already sounds balanced, the site says light processing or none at all may be the right call.

Free preview, paid export

Uploading, trying all eight profiles, adjusting intensity and EQ, and comparing original against master are free, and you can do that without an account. Uploads can be WAV, MP3, FLAC or AIFF, up to 200 MB and 10 minutes. Downloading the result takes a $9.90 monthly membership, billed monthly until canceled, which adds 24-bit or 16-bit WAV and 320 kbps MP3 exports, a reference-track mode that matches your song to another one, and full song history. Free accounts see their latest three songs.

One thing to keep in mind while comparing: the site notes that original and master play at their own levels and there's no loudness-matching control yet. A louder version tends to sound better at first, so it's worth turning the master down by ear before deciding a preset has improved things.

Your audio

The processing itself runs in your browser. After that, source audio, finished masters, settings and reports are uploaded to private cloud storage so you can come back to them, while a reference track stays on your device. Importing a Suno or Mureka share link goes through the company's server. The privacy policy names Cloudflare, DigitalOcean, Google sign-in and Stripe as providers, says audio isn't sold or used to train AI models, and says saved results stay until you ask for deletion. It also warns against treating the service as your only backup.

Who it fits

It suits someone with a Suno, Mureka or Udio track, or any finished home mix, who wants a quick, cheap master and is happy choosing between presets by ear. Anyone who wants to set each processor themselves will find it limited, and the site's own comparison table makes that point.
