Project Note

A closer look at GiftableSong

GiftableSong writes and records a personalized song gift from a recipient name, occasion and a few shared memories. You edit the lyrics, compare two 60-second previews for free, then pay $34.99 to unlock one full recording with a shareable gift page.

A song built from specifics

GiftableSong works on the idea that a personal song lands when it names real things. You choose the occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary, pick a sound, then answer a guided helper about the person and a few shared memories. The sample songs on the site show what that looks like: a 30th birthday song for a best friend built around a university library, a missed last bus and a rainy road trip, and an anniversary song that mentions food-truck tacos in the rain and a daughter named Mia.

You can read and edit the lyrics before any audio exists. After you sign in, it generates two 60-second recordings so you can compare versions and adjust the details, all before paying.

Paying for the one you pick

The model is a single payment rather than a subscription. When you've chosen a version, $34.99 unlocks that one full recording, its lyrics and a gift page where you can add a personal note. You send the recipient the link, and they can play the song without an account. An MP3 download is a separate $8.99 add-on, and video and wall art aren't part of the single-song purchase.

The gift page is unlisted but not password-protected, so anyone with the link can play it. The site says so plainly and suggests sharing it only with people you trust.

What happens to the story you tell it

The privacy policy lists what it keeps: the recipient's name, the occasion, your story, the lyrics, audio, cover art, personal note and sharing link, plus a delivery email if you ask it to send the gift. It names Mureka as the service that receives your instructions and lyrics to generate the song, Runware for optional cover art, Stripe for payment and Cloudflare for hosting and email, with analytics only when you consent. Deleting your account removes account-linked records, but generated audio and some provider records may be kept separately, and you can ask for those to be deleted through the contact form. Since the songs are built from memories about another person, it's worth keeping private details out of the story.

Who it's for

It suits someone looking for a personal birthday or anniversary gift who likes the idea of a custom song but wants to hear it before paying. It isn't for musicians who want to shape the arrangement themselves, and the site lists English first, with the United States as its first paid market.
