Causeway is a standalone Rust bridge between MCP clients and Chromium. It receives tool calls over standard input and sends the corresponding commands through the Chrome DevTools Protocol. The public landing page groups its browser tools around navigation, tabs, clicks, forms, screenshots, page reading, waits, network inspection, console inspection, and chained actions.
What caught my eye
Causeway makes its basic architecture easy to understand. One Rust binary sits between an MCP client and a real browser, and its tools are grouped by the job they perform. The simplicity is appealing, but the trust boundary matters more than the tidy diagram. Any agent connected to an authenticated browser can reach sensitive sessions.
