Project Note

A closer look at JSONViewerTool

A browser workspace with side-by-side JSON editors, tree views, syntax checks, comparisons and format converters.

Make an API response easier to read

A compressed API response is hard to inspect one bracket at a time. JSONViewerTool puts editable text beside a second pane with tree, code and text views. Formatting, minifying and validation controls sit above the editors, so the same workspace covers both reading a payload and finding a syntax problem.

Give the data another shape

The toolkit includes comparison tools and converters for CSV, Excel, YAML and XML. A CSV export could help a colleague inspect records in a spreadsheet, though nested objects may be flattened into columns. The FAQ advises checking that structure before importing the result elsewhere.

Keep the browser’s limits in view

Standard use is free, with no account required. The privacy policy says most tools process JSON or text in the browser without uploading it to the operator’s servers by default. It also allows analytics, advertising and other third-party services. That distinction matters before pasting confidential material.

Loading JSON from a URL depends on the endpoint allowing cross-origin browser requests. Very large files can also run into the device’s memory or performance limits; the FAQ suggests smaller chunks when the page slows down.
