A closer look at Mahjong Rise
Mahjong Rise is a tile-matching solitaire game with courtyard progression, offline solo tables and optional online social and garden features.
Match pairs in a four-slot tray
Mahjong Rise's current Play listing describes a four-slot tray for selected open tiles. Matching pairs clear automatically. If the tray fills without a pair, the round ends. With only four spaces, choosing a tile means thinking about what can be paired next.
This is solitaire, with no four-player mahjong table. The description says layouts repeat through a 24-table cycle and become harder, with themed tile sets and challenge boards such as a layered tower or a clear without shuffling. Shuffle, magnet, hint and undo are listed as ways to get past a difficult board. These mechanics are described by the developer; the game was not installed or played for this note.
A courtyard between tables
Wins build progress beyond the puzzle board. Points upgrade a house, the house produces seeds, and plants can be grown and harvested. Pets use that garden progression for defense and raids. The listing also describes decorations and illustrated adventure chapters unlocked through campaign tables.
For someone who likes a small world to develop between puzzles, the courtyard gives the next round a purpose beyond a score. The optional online layer includes defense, raids and plant crossing. Messages follow an accepted friend invitation. Successful raids burn one plant and take another, according to the listing.
Solo offline, social online
Solo tables work offline. Meeting other players, garden interactions and the leaderboard need a connection. The listing requires no email or password, while the policy describes anonymous Firebase authentication for the leaderboard. That does not make online activity local-only.
The listing is marked Contains ads. Optional rewarded videos provide more booster charges, and the linked policy also discloses Firebase gameplay analytics while online, separately from advertising consent. The Play data-safety page declares possible collection and sharing of data including location, names or user IDs, device identifiers and diagnostics.
The September 15 policy explains leaderboard and advertising data, but does not spell out the newer message and garden flows. Its email deletion-request route is for leaderboard entries, with no in-app delete button. It does not describe how deletion works for the newer social features.
