A closer look at ProdExplainer
ProdExplainer creates narrated explainers from ideas and screenshots, with script and storyboard editing before rendering.
Work out the explanation before rendering
ProdExplainer starts with an idea and drafts a script and storyboard around it. Its public workflow describes changing the words and scene order before assembling the video. That review step matters for a product explanation: a smooth voiceover won't fix a script that skips the step a new user needs.
The site also describes turning screenshots into narrated walkthroughs, with device frames and animated cursor actions. For a founder explaining a new screen, that is a more concrete starting point than asking for a promotional video from scratch. This is an example of the intended use, not a walkthrough created for this note.
Length and presentation set the price
The pricing page lists illustrated explainers at US$0.09 per finished second and videos with an on-screen presenter at US$0.45 per second. At those rates, a 60-second video is US$5.40 or US$27 respectively. The site says there is no subscription.
Each quoted price includes three renders at the same length and setup. A longer version costs the difference, and a localized version is a separate render charged at the same per-second rate. Those conditions matter more than the headline rate if you plan several languages or expect to keep changing the length.
Review the content as well as the animation
ProdExplainer advertises narration, music, captions and multiple screen formats, and publishes examples labeled as output from the product. Those examples offer a starting point for judging its style. They don't establish the accuracy of a new script, the pronunciation of specialist terms or how much editing a particular project will need. No account was created and no video was rendered for this note.
Its privacy policy says script text goes to Azure for narration and project content may go to processors used to produce the video. It also says customer work is not used for model training. Anyone working with private screenshots or lesson material should check those terms before uploading.
