Project Note

A closer look at AceFEExam

AceFEExam gives engineering graduates a full-length FE Civil mock exam that runs like the real one: 110 questions over 5 hours 20 minutes, two sections you can't reopen, a scheduled break and the searchable reference handbook. A pacing report afterward shows where time went. One full mock every 30 days is free.

Practice that feels like exam day

Most FE prep is question banks. AceFEExam focuses on the conditions of the real exam, because pacing and handbook searching sink people as often as content does. Its full-length FE Civil mock has 110 questions over 5 hours 20 minutes, split into two sections. Once you submit section one, you can't go back, just like the real test, and there's a scheduled 25-minute break. The screen copies the Pearson VUE layout, with a question navigator, flags and the searchable Reference Handbook 10.6 PDF as the only allowed reference.

At about 2.9 minutes per question, time is tight, which is why the report afterward matters. Alongside a score and topic breakdown, it shows where your time went, so you can tell whether you ran out of clock on a few long problems or lost minutes searching the handbook.

Disciplines and honesty about scope

NCEES offers the FE in seven disciplines, and you sit one. Only Civil is ready here. Mechanical, Electrical and Computer, and Other Disciplines are listed as in progress, and Chemical, Environmental and Industrial and Systems as planned, with the site saying it won't promise launch dates it can't keep. A public errata page lists confirmed defects with dates.

Free and paid

An eight-question diagnostic needs no account. The free plan includes one full-length mock every 30 days, 30 practice questions a day with worked solutions, the score and pacing report, and the errata. Exam Sprint costs $59 one-time for 90 days of FE Civil access and adds unlimited mocks with fresh numbers, topic drills, timed handbook lookup drills, a study plan built around your exam date and a free extension if you sit the exam and don't pass. A higher Complete plan is also listed.

The site is run by Xhorizon Labs LLC in Wyoming and says it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NCEES. It suits FE Civil candidates who want to rehearse the full sitting before exam day. Candidates in other disciplines will need to wait.
