A closer look at Gig Driver Profit Checker

A free, mobile-friendly gig driver profit calculator for the US and Canada that compares net pay per hour after distance, waiting time, vehicle cost and tolls.

The offer behind the payout

The page's three sample offers make the point quickly. With a $0.35-a-mile sedan and an $18-an-hour target, a $12 offer covering 8 miles in 35 minutes nets $15.77 an hour and gets a skip. A $9 offer for 3 miles and 25 minutes nets $19.08 an hour and passes. The $20 offer for 15 miles and 55 minutes, the biggest number on screen, lands at $16.09 and is marked borderline. All three are labelled hypothetical.

You enter the payout with tips, the whole distance including the deadhead back, every minute including the restaurant wait, one combined per-mile cost and any tolls or parking. Presets cover a compact car at $0.30 a mile, a typical sedan at $0.35, an SUV or truck at $0.45 and an EV at $0.18. Results update as you type, and a panel shows the exact formula.

What it doesn't do

There's no map or auto-routing, so the distance is whatever you type. Switching between the US and Canada changes labels and defaults without converting currency. The per-mile presets are starting points rather than your car's real cost, so the verdict is only as good as that number.

How it was built

The page says it was built with Muse AI from a real courier's idea, and it includes the one-paragraph prompt for anyone who wants to build a similar tool. It also carries a promotion for Muse with the builder's personal invite code, labelled as a referral. The calculator is a single page on GitHub Pages, and the submission says it has no ads, cookies, analytics or paid features.
