Project Note

A closer look at AION 2 Rift Timer

A free fan-made timer and field guide for AION 2 that counts down to the next expected Spacetime Rift from the Taiwan official guide's schedule, with source notes, a pet collection tracker and a Hidden Cube log.

What it does

In AION 2, ordinary Spacetime Rifts open on a fixed cycle, and missing the 15-minute entry window means waiting for the next one. This site does the arithmetic. You pick your game service and it shows a countdown to the next expected opening in your own time zone, which you can copy or turn into a reminder.

The useful part is how carefully it separates what's known from what's guessed. For Taiwan it follows the official guide: ordinary rifts every three hours starting at 02:00 server time (UTC+8), each open for 15 minutes. Korea's clock is marked as a community reference. For other services, a Custom or Global option lets you set the cycle start yourself. The site repeats that the timer is an estimate and doesn't read live portals or capacity, and it asks you to check the in-game countdown.

Reminders and the rest of the guide

Reminders are browser notifications set for 5 or 10 minutes before the opening, or at the opening itself. They come from the open page, with no push service, so the tab has to stay open for one to fire.

Beyond the timer there's a schedule table with UTC conversions, a separate explanation of Rift Contest, which has its own 10-minute entry window and rules, a pet collection guide that tracks what you own, a Hidden Cube hunt log and a preparation checklist. Pages link to their sources, and the site keeps historical patch details labeled as such.

Privacy and ownership

There's no account, and the privacy page says no advertising scripts run. Timer settings, checklists and logs live in your browser's local storage. Google Analytics counts page visits and a few actions, such as choosing a service or arming a reminder, without your selected time or any character details. It's an independent fan project, and its About page says AION 2 belongs to NC Corporation and the site isn't affiliated with or endorsed by NC.
