Backlinks Tools
Backlinks Tools watches the pages that link to your site and emails you when a link breaks, disappears or turns nofollow. It imports links from Search Console with read-only access and has a free plan for 100 links.

A closer look at Backlinks Tools
Backlinks Tools describes itself as a free backlink monitor for lost links, toxic links and domain health, with Search Console import, lost-link email alerts, a rank tracker and a site audit.
Knowing when an earned link goes away
Links from other sites break quietly. A publisher moves an article without a redirect, rewrites a page, or switches to a theme that marks every outbound link nofollow, and the site that earned the link often finds out weeks later, if at all. Backlinks Tools is built to catch those changes. You connect a domain, bring in the links you want watched, and its crawler rechecks each referring page on a schedule.
Each check records the status code, whether your link is still on the page, its rel attribute and the anchor text. When something changes, the alert includes the referring URL, the target URL and the anchor text that used to be there, which is what you need to write to the publisher. The site also flags links it considers risky and can export a disavow file, and it says plainly that Google ignores most spam on its own and that disavowing is mainly for sites facing a manual action.
Getting links in and what it can access
There are three ways to load links: a Google Search Console connection, a CSV upload or manual entry. The Search Console connection asks for the read-only webmasters scope, so it can read your link data but cannot change settings, submit sitemaps or alter property owners. The site says tokens are encrypted at rest, and you can revoke access from your Google account at any time.
Plans and limits
The free plan covers 100 monitored backlinks on one domain with weekly checks, email alerts for lost links, Search Console import, a rank tracker and a site audit. Pro costs $1 a month, raises the limit to 500 links, adds instant email alerts and opens the keyword explorer. The pricing page lists weekly checks on both plans, while the methodology page describes daily to hourly recrawls depending on tier, so check the plan page for the frequency you will get. Both plans include a beta social media manager for scheduling posts to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
The influencer index
Alongside the link tools, the site runs a free Instagram influencer search. Its methodology page says the directory indexes public creator, business and personal accounts across more than 90 categories, and anyone can search it by username, bio keyword, follower range and engagement rate without signing up. Accounts are listed whether or not the person has a Backlinks Tools account, and the privacy policy covers account holders only, with nothing on profiles in the index. Gathering Instagram profile data this way can also conflict with Instagram's terms, which bar collecting information in an automated way without Meta's permission. Keep that in mind before building outreach lists from it.
Who runs it
The site footer credits Brijesh Patel. The privacy policy names no company and lists a Gmail address and a contact form for questions. It covers account and usage data, says personal data is not sold, and says account data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days of closing an account.
